Yesterday we arrived in La Paz very early in the morning. We went straight to our hostel, which to our suprised had a cable TV. We were in heaven! My stomach was still off. The idea of staying in bed all day watching TV was the best idea yet. We took a nap and still felt off. We watch the AMAZING RACE, an old one, but still very cool to see. We saw the one the ended in Chicago. The couple that won was so excited and they were saying beautiful things to each other and soon enough I was crying like a baby. I told Tim I felt like we were in our own AMAZING RACE, the only difference is that we don´t win any money and it is our own choice where we go. It was the first time in two months I did want to go home, like for real.
The best thing I did was to let myself be.
Today I felt much better physically and emotionally. I was back to my goofy self. Tim kept saying "my knuckle feels better." We didn´t do much other than walk around the city. We booked our tour to the jungle on the Bolivian side. We leave tomorrow morning.
Everywhere we went the people seemed really nice, which changed my prespective from previous experiences. Everyone was super friendly and they were laughing at my goofy comments. =)
We went to the movie theater and saw Dick and Jane. Pretty darn funny! I like it a lot. The theater was huge. There were only like six of us.
On our walk to our hostel we stopped at the cathedral. Beautiful! The altar was built of gold. It was a great contrast against the thick, unpainted, cement walls. All the churches we´ve been to are gorgeous. It´s probably the most beautiful building in the towns for the most part.
The streets were crowded with people. I must say I feel really tall in Bolivia. Walking around I was taller than most men and women. And Tim was a giant. It was so great to see the contrast of business people in suits and nice coats with the indeginous people and tons of vendors left and right. They sell alot of woven stuff from scarfs to blankets to jewelry and electronics. I´m some tempted to buy everything. It so cheap and beautiful. I must say I´m saying beautiful alot. I can´t seem to find another word. But it´s true. Bonito. Bonito.
